Pradamano - Overview

"Three corn ears, with grains and leaves of gold, surrounded by a mass of Italian green". Thus recites the description of Pradamano's Municipal Coat of Arms. A heraldic description that also paints a realistic picture of life in this delightful little town on the outskirts of Udine.

Folk tradition, the delicious flavours of Friulan cuisine and its wines, perceptible in this land from the farmhouses of Cerneglons Vecchio to the "Wolves Den" of Lovaria, make it well worth a stop.

It does not fail to allure the senses, crowned by a conspicuous historical, cultural and artistic heritage, that can be enjoyed between Venetian villas and ancient churches, guardians of findings worthy of note.

Roman traces mark the start of Pradamano's history. Gradually it became the site of many events, with the tormented vicissitudes of the feuds, of the battles between the Guelfi and Ghibellini factions, and the domination of the Serenissima Republic. The already precarious social fabric was then tested to the limit by Napoleon and the Austrians, until its definitive revival with the annexation to the Kingdom of Italy in 1866.

Today Pradamano is a dynamic little community that has managed to graft a fine entrepreneurial fabric, typical of the people from Friuli, onto its proud agricultural roots.
